Mike was my Dad. His passing leaves a huge hole in my life, and the life of my family. He was a WWII Vet, a superb chef, and a great father. Thanks in large part to the attention and care of my brother, Roger, he remained sharp and alert to the end. I only wish, as we always do at times like this, that I'd been able to spend more time with him. I can't say any more at this time. Thanks to all who have expressed their sympathy to me and our family.

Michael Ihnat was my father-in-law. My husband, David Ihnat, brought me home to meet his folks for Christmas, 1988. Michael & Joan were one of the most loving, respectful, caring couples I had ever met. They reminded me of my own folks. Seeing how wonderfully Michael treated his wife let me know that my husband had a very good upbringing. Michael was a go-getter. When he came to visit he would always want to keep busy. I remember his painting our hall way & our garage door, telling him he didn't have to do that but Mike insisting he would be bored if he didn't do something. He was a marvelous grandpa to our son, Sean. Taking him shooting, playing pool and darts when Sean got old enough. We valued his love, his energy, the stories he told, and game nights when we would play Tri-Ominos, Bunco or cards. We are going to miss him terribly.
