Chuck Browne, teacher and coach, passed away at the age of 45 on July 24, 2017.
Chuck was born on November 9, 1971 to Sheree (Browne) Segebart in Maquoketa, Iowa. He graduated from Midland High School in 1990. Right after high school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he faithfully and honorably served for four years. He received his teaching certificate from University of Northern Iowa and moved to Houston, Texas where he taught 7th and 8th grand Social Studies for fourteen years at Alice Johnson Junior High.
He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. Chuck spent his time golfing, fishing, coaching football and track. He was a great artist and collected comic books. A great achievement he received was District Teacher of the Year Award and for a couple years running he received Teacher of the Year Award.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother Sheree Segebert of Decorah, a sister Michele Budde of Spillville, a brother Alan (Dina) Browne of Cypress, TX four nieces, Allyssa, Ashley, Asia, Danielle, a nephew Lane and his maternal grandparents Larry and Connie Browne of Lost Nation.
His brother, Mr. Alan Browne and his family will be holding services for him at Blackwell & Vazquez Woodforest Funeral Home Woodforest at 750 Uvalde Rd., Houston, TX 77015. Visitation service will be on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2pm to 8pm. A prayer service will be at 6pm. An additional visitation service will be held on a later date in Mr. Brownes’ hometown Lost Nation, Iowa.
