Cruz Rojas Garcia Quilantan, 86, was born in Weslaco, TX on September 14, 1931.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Cruz went home on Monday, January 15, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George Frank Garcia, sister Nicolasa Cisnero, brother Juan Daniel Rojas and her second husband, Richard Quilantan.
Cruz is survived by four children and their spouses: Yolanda and Pedro Ramirez, George Frank II and Pat Garcia, Elizabeth and Jose Martinez, Michael and Laura Garcia.  She was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren who will carry memories of her for a lifetime to come.  She also leaves behind two sisters: Pauline Sanchez and Marcelina Armstreet.
Cruz worked in nursing for 47 years at St. Joseph’s hospital in labor and delivery.  She helped many new lives enter this world.  After retirement, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren make successes of their own.  She valued God, family and traditions which included her devotion to church and passing recipes down to her granddaughters.  She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church for many, many years.

Mrs. Rojas Quilantan’s family will be accepting visitors for her at Blackwell & Vazquez Woodforest Funeral Home (750 Uvalde Rd. Houston Texas 77015) the visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, in the main chapel from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral service will then take place Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the main chapel of Blackwell & Vazquez Woodforest Funeral Home (750 Uvalde Rd. Houston Texas 77015). Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023) at 1:00 pm.
